World Summit on Counter-Terrorism

 ICT's 8th International Conference - September 11, 2008

Workshop - Coping with Psychological Effects of Terrorism

The aim of terrorism is to create fear in civilian society that threatens economic activity. Combating the fear that results from terrorist activities thus has become a crucial form of counter-terrorism. In times of rising awareness that classical defense policy cannot be the full answer to the threat of terrorism, creating psychosocial security policy is gaining importance. In this panel experts from the field of psychosocial service development and provision share programs that build societal resilience in the civilian population with a special emphasis on care of children.
