World Summit on Counter-Terrorism

ICT's 8th International Conference - September 11, 2008

Workshop - Counter-Terrorism Policing

This workshop will address the challenges and responses of policing in an era of increased terrorism and increased crime. Homeland security solutions often tend to focus on the perpetrators and their motives in an attempt to reduce or prevent acts of terror. Insufficient attention was given to existing approaches to counter criminal activities. Panelists will focus on various aspects of proactive policing that clarify the gamut that comprises the case-load for law enforcement and how to take advantage of existing community resources to successfully counter terrorism and crime alike. The workshop will discuss community efforts, inter-agency coordination and cooperation, and other partnerships that are essential to counter terrorism and crime alike.
