Offered in the fall and summer, the one-week Arab Culture & Environment Program gives a comprehensive view into the Arab and Islamic cultural environment, its structures, values, basic language elements and social practices. By learning about the socially accepted norms and values in the Arab and Islamic world, participants can begin to appreciate the subtleties of this culture and how to work within Arab and Islamic environments. The program is intended for security experts, practitioners, scholars, students and all those interested in addressing and working with Arab and Islamic communities.
Faculty
The faculty will be composed of ICT’s senior researchers, lecturers and associates, directed by Mr. Yoav Mimran, who is a well-known expert in Middle-Eastern, Arab and Islamic cultures, social behavior, environment and language. Mr. Yoav Mimran has more then 20 years experience of training intelligence, military and police forces in understanding and adapting to Middle-Eastern environments. He formerly taught spoken Arabic at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Mimran holds an MA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Program Structure & Tuition
The Arab Culture and Environment program will be taught in English over a one-week period. It consists of one graduate-level course consisting of 48 academic hours delivered by an expert in Arab culture, language and security service training. Upon completion of the program, participants will be granted a certificate from ICT and the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy, IDC Herzliya.
Tuition for the full one-week Arab Culture & Environment program is $2,680. If the course is taken with the three-week Executive Certificate Program in Counter-Terrorism Studies, tuition is $7,250 for all seven courses. Individual courses in that program are $1,340 each. Tuition does not include transportation to/from Israel or accommodation.
