1/12/2008 Calls for carrying out terrorist attacks against Danish targets, following news of a book with caricature drawings of the Prophet Muhammad to be published in December 2008

On November 12, 2008, the “Hanein” online forum published a post by an internet user named Abu Salem warning against the publication of new caricature drawings in Denmark. Abu Salem quoted an Arabic article published on a Danish news website on November 11, which discussed a new book about to be published in Denmark of caricature drawings of the Prophet Muhammad. In response to these new caricatures, the Danish Imam, Abdul Wahid Pedersen, described the drawings as part of a “storm” facing Danish Muslims over the past several years, in which a war of words and letters has transformed into one of caricatures.

In May 2007, a member of the Al-Hesbah online forum, who has been registered with the al-Qaeda affiliated site since October 2005 and belongs to its “Jihad Media Battalion,” raised the issue of attacking southern Israel from the direction of Saudi Arabia.

The message posted by the Jihad and Reform Front demonstrates an attempt by the group to use the American attack in Syria as leverage, further claiming that it was not a specific localized operation, but rather one link in a chain of operations with the sole aim of expanding American control over Arab and Islamic lands.


10/11/2008 Al-Hesbah forum users call for hostage-taking attacks to prevent the execution of terrorists on the island of Bali

At the end of October 2008, Indonesia's Attorney General announced the planned execution of three members of the radical organization Jemaah Islamiah (JI) responsible for the 2002 terrorist attacks in Bali, which left 202 people (mostly tourists) dead. Following the announcement, Jihadis have discussed taking hostages to prevent the executions.
