Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yuval Shimoni is a Fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzliya. His military career is extensive and dates back to 1991 as he filled various authority positions in the IDF intelligence world all while moving up the ranks. Some of his positions include the Chief Intelligence Officer of the 162 Division, Leader of Terrorism Theater at IDF Intelligence Directorate, IDF Northern Command Chief Intelligence Officer, and the IDF Intelligence Corps Commander.
He holds a BA in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies as well as two masters degrees which he graduated with honors (Public Administration - Executive Program and Political Science - Security and Strategy).
As a civilian, Yuval Shimoni continues to offer his valuable insights and leverage his experience through an involvement in multiple entrepreneurial projects and security initiatives while connecting local and global firms.
He is the receipiants of several awards; including the: Israel’s National Security Award (2019) – For forming a designated team to address Hezbollah's tunnel threat in the northern border; the IDF Intelligence Directorate Head Award for Creative Thinking (2007) and the General Chief of Staff Honors (2000).
