  • Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan praises his organization’s fighters for their achievements in Operation Al-Khandaq against US forces in Afghanistan, and encourages Afghan soldiers to defect from the ranks of the Afghan army. In addition, he calls on the Americans to approach the negotiating table in order to bring about the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.
  • The leader of Al-Qaeda, Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahiri, emphasizes on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel, or the Nakba (the Great Catastrophe), as he defined it, that jihadists are the ones responsible for the destruction of the State of Israel. According to him, the Arab countries failed in this mission since they are hostile to Islam, cooperate with the enemies of Islam in the West, hold diplomatic ties with Israel and oppress Palestinian jihadists.
  • ‘Asim ‘Umar, the leader of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent, warns Muslims of attempts by the enemies of Islam to attack their Muslim identity in various ways. According to him, this is not just an attempt to undermine the real meaning of jihad, but rather an attempt to uproot from the hearts of Muslims their faith in Allah and their love for his messenger, Muhammad. Hence, he demands that Muslims fight against this attack and defend their faith.
  • Khalid bin Umar Batarfi, the spokesman for Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), gives an extensive interview about the fighting in Yemen. According to him, his organization succeeded in developing the capabilities to fight against the enemy and improve its situation on the battlefield. In the interview, he accuses Saudi Arabia and the United Emirates of committing war crimes in Yemen designed to please the United States, calls to topple the Saudi regime and calls on Muslims to join the jihad war in Yemen.
  • Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen, Al-Qaeda’s branch in Somalia, documents militant activities carried out by its fighters against Kenyan security forces within Kenyan territory. According to him, the organization’s fighters see themselves as obligated to liberate the lands captured by Kenya from Somalia and to act against the crimes committed by the Kenyan government against Muslims. According to the organization, Somalia is supposed to serve as a departure base for jihadists in other parts of East Africa in order to fight against tyrannical regimes.
  • Sheikh Abu Dhar 'Azzam, who belongs to the Turkistan Islamic Party, accuses China of persecuting Muslims and suppressing their Muslim identity. In light of this, ‘Azzam calls on Muslims to boycott products made in China, encourages clerics and journalists to support Muslims in East Turkistan, and encourages the mujahideen to carry out ‘quality attacks’ inside China and beyond.
  • Sheikh Abu Yusuf al-Barnawi, the leader of the Islamic State (IS) in West Africa, published a book condemning the conduct of Abu Bakr Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, and his followers. According to him, the latter act in a way that contradicts and deviates from Quran and the Sunnah.
  • Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, blames the jihad factions willing to participate in the Russian initiative for a cease-fire within the framework of the Astana Conference for the defeats suffered by the Syrian revolution. According to him, the conference is deceiving the factions and attempting to distract them from the fighting. He adds that the organization refused to take part in the conference, tried to prevent it from taking place and continued fighting to stop its activities.
