Hezi Kalo has served as Director General of the Bank of Israel since October 2008.
For more than 12 years, he served in Israel Security Agency as senior management and command positions at the level of department head (equivalent to a Major General in the IDF). Among these positions, he served as Northern District department head and as Non-Arab Affairs department head. In his last position at the Israel Security Agency he served as head of the Human Resources and Training department.
Between 1998-2003, he was the Vice President of Planning and Information Clalit Health Services and in 2003 he became the Vice President of Human Resources.
Hezi has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science (Haifa University) and graduate of the National Security College (with honors). Numerous continuing education studies in management and computerization, including a specialization in Information Technology at Harvard University (July 2005) and a Directors course at Tel Aviv University (May 2008).
