Bartel, Jeremy (LTC)

US Army War College Fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), The Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzliya, Israel

Lieutenant Colonel Bartel is a Special Forces Officer who has served in leadership positions from Detachment Commander through Battalion Commander. Additionally, he served as a staff officer in various positions within Special Operations Command Europe. Lieutenant Colonel Bartel has operational deployments to Kosovo, the Republic of the Philippines, Iraq, Afghanistan, as well as numerous training and exchange missions with US Allied Special Forces. Most recently, Lieutenant Colonel Bartel served for two years as a battalion commander in South Korea.

Lieutenant Colonel Bartel holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Science in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

Lt. Col. Jeremy Bartel – ICT16

The session was part of the ICT's 16th World Summit on Counter-Terrorism: "Unpuzzling Terrorism". Lieutenant Colonel Bartel remembered the victims of 9/11 and terrorist attacks worldwide.  He reflected on the progress made since 9/11 and the commitment of nations throughout the world to combat terrorism for future generations.
