Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Former Ambassador to the United States, Israel
Ambassador Danny Ayalon is the Rennert Family Visiting Professor of Foreign Policy Studies at Yeshiva University. He is the chairman of Hod Ayalon LTD, an Israel-based consulting firm, and the founder of The Truth About Israel, a non-for-profit organization that fights de-legitimization and defends Israel in the social media.
Ambassador Ayalon is a member of the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University and a board member of the Tom Lantos Foundation For Human Rights. From 2009 until 2013, he served as Israel's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and as a Member of Knesset. From 2002 until 2006, Ayalon served as the Ambassador of Israel to the United States.
From 1997 until 2002, he worked in the Israeli Prime Minister's Office as the senior foreign policy advisor to Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon, Ehud Barak, and Benjamin Netanyahu. From 1993 until 1997, Ambassador Ayalon served as a senior diplomat at the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations in New York.
From 1991 until 1993, he served as the Consul of Israel in Panama. Ayalon served as a captain in the armored corps of the IDF. He holds an MBA from Bowling Green State University of Ohio and a BA in Economics from Tel Aviv University. Ayalon lives in Hod Hasharon with his wife and their two daughters.
