Culioli, Charles

Charles Culioli holds a Dual BA between Sciences Po Paris and UC Berkeley. He studied History, Middle Eastern Studies, and Legal Studies. He has held several research positions, at UC Berkeley Law School, at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies of UCB, and at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), IDC, Herzliya, Israel. 

Charles Culioli is also the co-founder of the Be Happih campaign, a humanitarian project that aims at empowering teenage girls in rural areas in the MENA. The campaign works to fight taboos surrounding menstrual bold by providing them with reusable and ecological sanitary towels. Focusing primarily on Morocco for the beginning of the project, the campaign has brought together a community of more than nine thousand people on social media.

Assessing UNRWA’s “Willing but Unable” Paradigm

UNRWA is a humanitarian organization whose mandate was not adapted to combat terrorism. The close relation of the agency to its Palestinian client population both in terms of services and employment led UNRWA to progressively mirror the society in which it evolved.
